The Popradské Pleso Chalet is located in a picturesque surroundings of the Mengusovská Valley in the High Tatras, on the banks of Popradské Pleso (pleso = a glacier lake), not far from Štrbské Pleso, at an elevation of 1 500 a.s.l. At the disposal of visitors there are , except for accommodation, a restaurant, Slovak room (a restaurant furnished in a Slovak folk style), café, saloon with a TV and VCR, reception desk where one can get souvenirs, postcards, a refreshment vendor, exchange office, locker room, ski storage room, outside deck, library, playroom, biliard room, phone, copying services, internet, and offered are also recuperative stays (allergies, inflammations, asthma), trainings, workshops.
The Popradské Pleso Chalet is laid on a trail called Tatranská Magistrála and from Štrbské Pleso it is reachable by a 60 minute easy walk. The Chalet is a starting point for all major hikes, (Rysy, Kôprovský štít, etc.), guided alpine hikes (Gerlach, Vysoká, etc.) and mountain climbing tours (Galéria Ganku, Hrubô, Ostrava, etc.) in the High Tatras. A symbolic cemetery of the High Tatras victims can be found in the vicinity of the lake and Chalet of Popradské pleso.
This area attracts attention of many skiers because of its good skiing conditions lasting until May, and especially those who like high-difficulty and extreme skiing and ski alpinism. Cross-country skiing during winter months is a matter of course. Popradské Pleso is a popular destination for bikers and a starting point for mountain bikers. Apart from this local offer of services, in the near vicinity other services are available such as horse carriage riding, hang-gliding, swimming, cave exploring, etc.
